Homes for Over 23500 Poor Families by the Punjab Government

A big and good news for poor and low-income families in Punjab. The government’s housing project, Apni Chhat Apna Ghar, is now very close to helping more than 23500 poor families move into their new homes. These houses are almost ready, and this is happening in less than one year.

What Is This Scheme?
The housing project started in September 2024. It was launched by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The objective of this program is to give interest-free loans to poor families so they can build their own houses on their own land. So far, more than 30 billion rupees in loans have been given to 28,219 families in different cities and villages of Punjab.
The goal is to build 100,000 homes in 4.5 years in cities and villages.
Who Can Apply?
The government has set some clear and simple eligibility rules for this scheme:
- You must be a permanent resident of Punjab
- You must own a plot: at least 5 marla in cities or 10 marla in villages
- The plot must be in your name
- You should not be involved in any criminal activity
- You should not have failed to pay back loans from any bank or finance company
- Your family must be registered in NSER (National Socio-Economic Registry) and your PMT score should be 60 or less
These rules are made to make sure that only honest and deserving families get this help.
